We All Need a Dose of Bold Courage.
Many people spend their whole life struggling to come to terms with what could have been. The good news is that with a healthy dose of bold courage and the decision to live more intentionally, they can avoid further regrets.
Bold courage is about committing to action despite your fear.
It is about becoming more disciplined in your approach to living and working with an engaged and renewed sense of excitement, accomplishment and joy.
When you recognize the importance of your routine daily actions and the attitudes in which you do those actions, you lay the foundation for your continued success or failure.
With the right approach you also insulate and protect yourself against those life’s disruptions that rob you of your confidence.
Over the course of my career, I have met thousands of people who reflect on their lives with regrets of chances never taken and dreams never fulfilled. Many people spend their whole life struggling to come to terms with what could have been.
Through them, over and over again, I saw this trend and my heart hurt for those people and their disappointment.
The concept of “bold courage” was born out of my own personal call to action to change my life for the better. In the process I realized that everyone could benefit from its principles.
Thousands of people are living in a place of brokenness, where fear, disappointment, uncertainty, and feelings of inadequacy have taken hold.
You see this most dramatically in the workplaces of our nation where we see mounting incidents of burn-out, mental breakdowns, disability claims and the negative impact on productivity in the workforce.
To help people get back on track to finding their awesome, I developed a new boldness strategy for life; a simple but focused plan of action for conquering daily achievements that is consistent, repeatable and aligned to owning their awesome in a bigger way. It is the big dream connected to small every day actions that achieve the most long lasting results.
It is about using what you innately have control over, which is your attitude, your skills, abilities, passions, hobbies and talents and pairing them with opportunities to allow the authentic you to shine through.
Imagine what would happen if we all took ownership of our own lives and starting committing to do the right things, with the right attitude with the right people in our midst.
I wanted to create that scenario in my life as much as I could as I saw a great foundation for a fulfilled and satisfied life.
In my own search for boldness in life, for increased fulfillment and the ability to live passionately and impact the lives of others in a positive way, I discovered that within each person is a definition of what awesome looks like and a craving for how it would feel to live life with it.
How can we bring this out of ourselves and into reality?
For me, it was learning to identify and be more intentional in how I use my strengths, my passions and my authentic voice.
I’ve always had a desire to achieve something of lasting legacy-building impact in both my life and in my career. It was this desire that fueled my bold courage and how I later discovered how finding and owning my awesome would change everything.
How do we get started?
Before you do anything else, sit down quietly and consider what it is that you really want out of life in the various sectors that comprise all that is you.
Then take today’s agenda and see if there is one single thing in it that supports your desires.
If there is, is it enough? Can it be expanded? Can it cover more than one goal?
If there is nothing at all, you have work to do. If you spend your days in a haze of businesses, you will never reach the road to awesome, let alone travel on it and reach your destination.
